In 1994, when Silver Lake was just a bypass from East Hollywood to the 5 Freeway, interior designer, artist, and vintage furniture collector, Scott Mangan, opened the first Rubbish Interiors shop on Silver Lake Blvd.
Soon set designers, other interior designers and local artists who knew Scott started showing up at the shop. They knew his knack and keen eye to find unique and trending pieces from every corner of the country would never disappoint when they came to find an item or fill a room. Scott’s fine arts background, unique sense of style, and unusual combinations have over the years led to major decorating commissions, beginning with photographer Herb Ritts, and now for an extended roster of celebrity and other creative clients.
After moving to the current location, Scott expanded by setting up beautiful and comfortable vignettes of sitting areas, living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms… combining Modernism with Regency, and Asian to Contemporary. Customers soon started wanting to bring his sense of design into their homes and the Interior Design business took off. Scott’s ability to incorporate the clients’ own objects and furniture with pieces he has found in his wanderings, or newly purchased, makes each house, office, or restaurant unique.
Today Scott Mangan and Rubbish Interiors can help you find that piece to fill in an empty spot, redo a room or plan your whole house or business remodel. Come visit the showroom, shop online, call or e-mail to set up an appointment.
